CarryOn Launches "Future Maritime Leaders" Education Initiative
CarryOn has unveiled its ambitious "Future Maritime Leaders" program, a comprehensive educational initiative aimed at developing the next generation of shipping and logistics professionals in both Australia and China. The program, launching with an initial investment of $3 million, will provide scholarships, internships, and practical training opportunities to students interested in maritime logistics careers.
"The shipping industry is evolving rapidly, and we need to ensure we're preparing the next generation for the challenges ahead," said Sarah Chen, CarryOn's Head of Human Resources. "This program represents our commitment to not just the industry's future, but to creating meaningful career opportunities for young people in both countries."
The program includes:
- Full scholarships for 50 students annually in maritime studies
- Paid internship opportunities across CarryOn's network
- Mentorship programs pairing students with industry veterans
- Cross-cultural exchange programs between Australian and Chinese institutions
CarryOn has partnered with leading maritime universities in both countries, including the Australian Maritime College and Shanghai Maritime University. The company will also provide guaranteed job interviews for program graduates and has committed to hiring at least 30% of program participants into full-time positions.
"We believe this initiative will help bridge the cultural and professional gap between our two nations while addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in our industry," added Chen.
