CarryOn Launches "Remembrance Bridge" Service for Qingming Festival

CarryOn Shipping Platform has announced a special "Remembrance Bridge" service to help overseas Chinese in Australia honor their ancestors during Qingming Festival (Tomb Sweeping Day), which falls on April 4th this year.

"We understand the deep cultural significance of Qingming Festival and the challenges faced by Chinese Australians who cannot return to their homeland to pay respects to their ancestors," said Wei Zhang, Cultural Affairs Director at CarryOn. "Our new service aims to bridge this gap by facilitating the delivery of traditional offerings and conducting ceremonial services on behalf of those unable to travel."

The comprehensive service includes:

  • Transportation of traditional offerings such as paper money, incense, and ceremonial items to specified locations in China
  • Arrangement of local representatives to conduct tomb sweeping ceremonies on behalf of overseas families
  • Live video streaming of ceremonies for families to participate remotely
  • Delivery of special Qingming food offerings to ancestral homes
  • Photographic documentation of ceremonies and grave sites

"This initiative reflects our commitment to not just moving goods, but connecting cultures and preserving important traditions," explained Zhang. "For many in the Chinese Australian community, maintaining these ancestral connections is profoundly important, especially during significant cultural observances like Qingming."

The service has already received significant interest from Chinese communities across Australia, with hundreds of bookings made since its announcement last month. CarryOn has partnered with local service providers in major Chinese cities and rural areas to ensure comprehensive coverage.

"We're not just a shipping company; we're a cultural bridge," said Michael Chen, CEO of CarryOn. "This service embodies our philosophy that logistics isn't just about moving objects—it's about connecting people, preserving traditions, and honoring the bonds that transcend distance."

CarryOn has indicated that the Remembrance Bridge service will be offered annually, with plans to expand to other culturally significant observances in the future.
